The 30 Day Fitness Challenge

I have always been a fan of home workouts. I laugh at those who spend hundreds if not thousands of pesos for a gym membership or even an instructor. Not that I don't believe it doesn't work, because it does and everyone has their own reasons, but I just don't want to spend money for something I could get for free.

I don't need to look far for an inspiration. I used to play basketball with construction workers with chiseled abs but still eating at least 2 cups of rice and drinking almost every night. Another inspiration is of course, my wallet.

The 30 Day Fitness Challenge App (for Android and IOS)

Living in a world of apps, I found just one that I actually think I can benefit from: The 30-Day Fitness Challenge.
I actually started the program back in January 2017. But a product launch took up most of my time and eventually I gave up the challenge. By the end of 2017 when by chance I opened the app, I saw a frightening stat: I gained 10 pounds in 2017! Time to get back to work.

The developers say that the app is "designed for people who are too busy to go to a gym." Maybe they should add "and to those who can't afford gym membership," like me.

The app is very easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow. And hopefully it develops into a habit. There are various workouts to choose from and different difficulty levels.

I started with Full Body Workout, Easy Plan 1 on January 2, 2108 and kept track of my weight. The app will start you off slowly and the workouts become harder as the days go by. The app's tagline goes: It never gets easier, you just get better.

Every fourth day is my favorite day:

I finished the challenge yesterday and am happy to share my results!

From 164.80 lbs, I lost a few pounds and have a current weight of 159.60 lbs.

I'm now planning to start month 2 today, moving up to the Medium Plan. I just hope I can sustain the habit and lose more pounds on the way to a healthier life.
